Hi - You know, I'm one of those people who needs exactly eight hours of sleep at night, and because I often don't make it to bed very early, I won't wake up then until 8 or 8:30 in the morning, and I always always beat myself up about it, but I guess I'm just going to have to live with the fact that I cannot got to bed at 12:30 and wake up up 7:00 in the morning. It just makes me feel so lazy to get in a good night's sleep, like I shouldn't be entitled to it or something. And it doesn't help that waking up on my mattress every morning makes me feel like I need a trip to the chiropractor's office.

Another wonderful post Dr. Daisy! I've always struggled with sleep issues, well for the last 8 years since a traumatic event happened in my life.

I just started making myself go to bed at 11pm every night (even on the weekends)and get up at 5:30am every morning. I have a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep but my body is definitely getting used to this routine and schedule.

I do notice a difference in my mood and how 'awake' I am during the day even though I'm still not getting an adequate amount of sleep (it's more than I've gotten in the past) but have started a daily/nightly routine.

This is a huge step in the right direction for me. 8 years is a long time to go being sleep deprived and it's time to do something about it :-)

Thanks for reminding me how important sleep really is!
