We all suffer from fatigue some time in our lives and if you are a parent, then you probably suffer from fatigue a bit more often.
Here are some simple ways you can fight fatigue:
- Start Moving – You’re probably thinking, how can I possible move if I am fatigued? Did you know that a simple brisk walk around the block can be enough to get you off the couch? And…most of our fatigue is actually caused by a sedentary lifestyle. The less you move, the more tired you will become, especially when movement is required. So, let’s get up and get moving!
- Small Meals – To maximize your energy throughout the day, eat the right kind of foods at the correct intervals. Simply put, we must eat 5 to 6 meals a day, beginning with breakfast. Then every coupld of hours eat a small meal or snack. Be sure to choose low-fat, complex carbohydrates to fuel your body. The foods to avoid are those that will deplete the energy you have stored such as sugar and caffeine. It is misguided to believe that sugar and caffeine will give you energy, because it is actually a temporary boost that will sap your energy quickly.
- Stay Balanced – This is the most important, because stress, anger and any other negative energy will lead to profound fatigue. This is especially true if you are losing sleep because of this negative energy as well as obsessing or trying to do it all yourself. Whenever you are feeling stressed or angry, it is best to find ways to stay balanced and let it all out. Try a warm bath, or listening to relaxing music or even a simple stroll will reduce the stress.
