Today we are sending out a warning. Lady Gaga is inspiring our young girls in more ways then one. Apparently featured in one of her videos were the cartoon like eyes that she achieved with contact lens. The biggest problem is the danger that the use of these contacts can cause. First of all, the contact lens are not FDA approved in the United States. Secondly, the contact lenses can be purchased online, without a prescription. The biggest danger found with the use of the lenses is blindness.
The contact lenses are over-sized to give the appearance of the cartoon like characters. Since they are over-sized, the do not fit the eye properly and can scratch the cornea or lead to blindness with prolonged use. Please note that these contact lenses are not prescribed by a licensed physician and are accessible online for $20 to $30.
Is it worth the risk of blindness to make a fashion statement?
